There is only one of these left for sale in the province that I can find. Vancouver Island has more than the mainland a few weeks ago, so I got my sister to snag me a couple.
Nikka has had to stop production of this whisky, and several others, to save what aged whisky is left to maintain production of its blends. They’re guessing 10 years before this and others are available again, so I’m not allowed to open the second bottle till 2025. This is my favourite whisky I’ve tried so far, so I’ve gotta make them last.

Writer’s Tears is a new favorite. Copper pot Irish. Reminds me of Redbreast but $20 cheaper.

2030 is a lifetime away in the world of whisky. They say that now but it may never come back. If it does comes back, best case scenario is only a slight change in flavor. You done good!
The Gull Liquor Store in North Van is always worth a look. Sometimes cheaper than the government stores. They have one bottle left:

Things have been opening up even more provincially. It’s now legal for Canada Post to ship liquor. Not sure if these Alberta shops are using them but I’ve found a couple more recently that will ship.
Usually cheaper than local even with $25 for shipping. Sometimes a bottle here for $200 can be had for $125 plus shipping. And the variety...
I also recently found this spot on the Island that will ship:
More than a little bitter here. I’ll go out of my way to not buy from BC gov. stores. Take advantage of me for 20 years? Fuck. them.

I called pretty much every private place I could think of that might have it, and none did...the Gull has the Coffey Grain, but not the Malt.
I don’t like supporting the BCLs either, I’ll have to take a look at those shops that will ship, thanks!

Great stuff and easily one of my favorites as well
. Currently sitting with about 2.5 bottles of those bottles in reserve along with some remains of a 17 year old blend I happened to grab from them during my second visit to Japan a few years ago. Definitely taking my sweet time with each of those (
especially the 17...
).
